Snow Day

Friday was declared snow day this week 🥶
The kids were sent home early Thursday and training was called off.
All Saturday fixtures called off and all that there was left to do was play.
Sometime we get wrapped up in raising children, hung up on what we should be doing, how we should be doing it.
If they are young rising athletes we worry that they have missed a session, they haven't played this week, there gunna lose fitness, etc.
The reality is sometimes a down day, a chance to relax, a chance to play with friends, do something different from the plan is just as enhancing and developing as the plan it's self.

I know as a mother when things don't go to plan it can stress me out and I worry that I'm letting things slip.
however I know the time spent sledging and enjoying the snow was so much fun and so much exercise and so much fresh air and so much interaction!
All of the good stuff rolled into one with the nutrition slotted in between.
Just remember when the plan changes the nutrition also needs to be tweaked.
The basics stay the same and always keep the foundations in place, but switch little bits of the plan up.
We have been sledging for 3 days with a swimming session thrown in for good measure and we are done 😂
Never lose sight of the end goal, know where your going, have a plan in place but remember there is never going to be a straight line to your destination.
life is not straight forward, learn to roll with it.
